The Oscars -

So it's that time of year again. Usually I've seen more of the nominated films by this time. You can go over to the Oscar's website and check it out link after the break. One film that is out today that I've been wanting to see since it came out is A better life. I'll post the trailer here. When I saw the trailer the first time this film reminded me a lot of the Bicycle Thief. This is one of my favorite films. All the reviews I've read say that it is an obvious homage to it. I also like the fact that most reviewers say this is not a political film. I could see how it would be but I'm glad it focuses more on story and not politics. The main actor in this is Demian Bichir, nominated for best actor. I will definitely watch this film sometime this week and get my review up.

One nice surprise in the nominations is Nick Nolte for Warrior. I already did a little write up on this film so you can check it out in an earlier post. When I was watching the film I told my family either Nick Nolte or Tom Hardy should be nominated for an oscar. I'll try and see as many of these films as I can and let you guys know what I think.
