Review Saving Private Perez

Saving Private Perez. Not really sure how to review this movie. It is a funny movie. It is well done. It is a Mexican production. I think the moments are funny and the humour is subtle at times. My worry is that since this movie is in spanish a lot of the jokes are lost in translation. The subtitles are really not that good at translating the humour. Knowing spanish definitely helped me enjoy this a lot more than if I was just reading the subtitles. Over all an enjoyable movie not bad for 99 cents at redbox. The trailer does a pretty good job of setting the plot expectations. Basically a Cartel leader's brother is in Iraq and missing in action. Even though he has been estranged from his mother and brother he has to go and get his brother back. He assembles a rag tag team of mercenaries, hired killers, and a Russian guide to help him on his quest. I guess that would be a good way to describe this film they are on quest (noble?). Some of the jokes are subtle like the indian in underwear he is probably the funniest one in the film. Others are more in your face.

Available at Redbox.
