The Act of Killing - Documentary

Having gone to school for film we were introduced to Werner Herzog and his unique way of documentary film making. We watched Rescue Dawn and debated how much the director influenced performance and if this took away or added to the documentary. I came upon, "The act of killing" by way of apple trailers and yahoo's trailer site. Here is a great article/review by Jason Gorber from Twitch film. Twitch Film Review - The Act of Killing

The documentary is about death squads in Indonesia in the 1960's that tortured and killed communists. Joshua Oppenheimer, the director, uses the recreation method similar to the way Herzog used it in Rescue Dawn. Oppenheimer urges the old death squad members to recreate their acts.
